The use of optimised wheels and rollers facilitates physically stressful activities, which leads to noticeable relief for the workers.
In addition to lifting, holding, carrying and dispensing, pulling and sliding are among the most common steps when people have to move loads by hand. Especially in production and logistics, these physically demanding activities are part of everyday life – and thus represent a considerable burden for employees. Depending on the weight of the relevant transport material, pulling and sliding requires an enormous amount of effort and can overload muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints in the long term. This affects the spine, knees, hip joints and the entire hand-arm-shoulder area.
The IGR has awarded the Besthane® and Blickle SoftMotion wheel series. The seal was awarded due to the extremely low start-up, rolling and swivel resistance of the running pad series.
Special test for SoftMotion
The Blickle SoftMotion elastic soft rubber flooring series is characterized by effective noise damping through the running surface, in addition to a low rolling and swivel resistance and an improvement in ergonomics due to noticeably higher driving comfort.
Less vibration, less noise
An additional and decisive feature are the vibration-inhibiting running properties. As a test arrangement, various test tracks with different floor coverings were set up at the IGR’s partner of the technical testing institute intertek GmbH in Fürth (www.intertek.de): a floor with paving stones, then a typical running grid and a smooth industrial floor covering for reference. The result showed significantly less vibration and a greatly reduced noise emission, as the goods to be transported rattleless. The advantages are clear: by lower vibrations, the worker is relieved during pushing/pulling, the same by the lower noise, which, for example, in kitchens or canteens benefits the environment through less clinking.
