IGR Certifications – Our Mission
The Institute for Health and Ergonomics understands ergonomics as the ability to adapt to human diversity.
People differ in their physical, functional, and individual needs—just as products, concepts, and organizations do. The better a solution adapts to these differences, the higher its ergonomic value.
We assess, support, and recognize approaches that contribute to ergonomic quality, adaptability, and the promotion of health. The focus is not on materials or manufacturing methods, but on the extent to which a product, idea, or organization supports people in all their diversity.
In this way, we promote the visibility of ergonomic quality—transparent, independent, and practice-oriented.
Product certification
Based on DIN EN ISO 26800 / DIN EN ISO 15537, the IGR tests whether ergonomic products and services meet the specified minimum requirements. Our test procedures also help us to assess practical applicability and ergonomics. After certification, the product receives our seal of approval. This enables end users to recognize the ergonomic benefits.
Product development
The IGR deals with the certification and testing of ergonomic products on a daily basis and has extensive experience. We contribute this knowledge to the development of new products. We support companies in professionally planning and implementing ergonomic solutions in order to ensure sustainable optimization of the use, functionality and user orientation of products.
Competence partner ergonomics
The IGR offers companies the opportunity to be recognized as an ergonomics competence partner.
This partnership identifies specialist retailers, manufacturers and service providers who have proven ergonomic expertise and are committed to ergonomic quality in advice, product range and application.
International partnerships
The IGR also helps to shape and test ergonomic standards internationally. This is why we maintain partnerships with institutions and agencies worldwide. This cooperation makes it possible to take regional characteristics into account and to always test ergonomic quality in close proximity to the respective market and the needs of users.
