For the third time, the jurors came together and were spoiled for choice. The effort was worth it. The high-caliber entries once again included a wide variety of companies that represent the diversity of applications for modern ergonomics. Be it the classic office furniture manufacturer that has been able to sharpen its ergonomic profile time and again over many years or the innovative start-up that makes a valuable contribution to the working world of the future with fresh ideas: the entire spectrum is reflected in the range of companies that were once again at the start.
Nothing is as it was before
Against the backdrop of the pandemic, it became clear how the boundaries between home and the world of work are blurring. With the home office, everyday working life moved into our private lives. Solutions that were previously found in offices are also interesting for mobile working away from fixed workstations. What’s more, there are still many ergonomic problems in the home environment. Many people will no longer be able to return to their old office workstations, or will only be able to do so in part, which means that equipping the home office to meet people’s needs will be at the top of the agenda in the coming months.
The topic of behavioral ergonomics is becoming even more important. Personal responsibility based on sound knowledge enables sensible and relieving use of work equipment. Balancing through exercise and sport helps to prevent damage caused by one-sided or incorrect strain. Sensible ergonomic innovations make a valuable contribution here.
