We now present everything you need to know about the “newcomer app” – ergonomically sustainable and innovative at the same time.
Trendy, digital, health-promoting & scientifically based – that’s HUMEN® dynamics, the ergonomic app from the IGR. A “high-tech tool” that not only opens up innovative perspectives on health and ergonomics in companies. In fact, the app is both tangibly and visibly impressive. Thanks to lively interaction and expressive visualization, it raises awareness of relieving, correct movement sequences in production or trade. HUMEN® is now available for download: in the Apple Store or on Google play.
Humen Dynamics – Why?
Whether demographic change, late retirement or global technologization: the face of our working world and its requirements are changing completely. Not in the distant future, but now. The focus is on the physical and mental well-being of all employees. Because only those who feel fit and agile will remain active at work for as long as possible. So it’s time to sensitize our senses accordingly. And that means healthy ergonomics at the workplace – from optimum equipment to ideal movement sequences.
This is precisely why the IGR has developed a forward-looking concept to promote workplace ergonomics. In cooperation with Prof. Dr. Gerold Bausch ‘s team at the Laboratory for Biosignal Processing at HTWK Leipzig, the computer-based application HUMEN® dynamics was developed. Available offline since September 2019, the tool is very popular with the responsible health managers. Because instead of gray theory, the motto is:
Let the pictures speak for themselves
Only a short “in action video” recorded directly or live at the workplace is sufficient for an exact evaluation of motor skills using HUMEN® dynamics. In plain language: film, upload the file and it’s sent by e-mail via the IGR to the HTWK for analysis. An analysis that is both easy to understand and vividly illustrative.
Employees, line managers and “health officers” can use their own reflection in the video to discover where things are going wrong. Because Ergo-Man (anatomical stick figure) evaluates and documents all movements of the knee, shoulder and spine. Orientation to the RULA standard (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment). It changes color from green to orange to red according to the traffic light principle – depending on the error rate, the time required and the need for improvement. An all-round successful process: simple, sustainable and motivating at the same time, as it is tangible.
“Health is digital”
But there is even more high-tech potential in HUMEN® dynamics, and this has finally been realized in a technically creative way. HUMEN® dynamics has thus become a hip, digital trendsetter. Or rather: a mobile, smart & interactive app. An app that literally invigorates the ergonomic market:
Always at hand – we have it in the palm of our hand
Thanks to smartphones, tablets and the like, HUMEN® dynamics is now ready for use anywhere, anytime. The app picks up employees, colleagues and managers right where they regularly are: at their workplace. There is no longer any need for lengthy scheduling or cumbersome procurement processes for (video) equipment. Because you can quickly pull out your cell phone and get started – assuming successful installation and registration of an account. Now it’s time:
Film off and action: “Participate” instead of ONLY “Be there”
After all, it is the successful mix of fresh, lively communication and exciting (social) interaction that ultimately makes the difference. The enthusiasm for long-term ergonomically healthy behavior intensifies immensely. So don’t hesitate to be your own director or play the lead role in your own live movie. Let yourself be carried away by this game!
How does it work? Very simple! Hold your smartphone horizontally (director), strike a T-pose (actor), press “Record” and everything is in the frame: separate movements or entire sequences – from individuals to several colleagues to entire departments.
The shoot is not going as planned? Because the motor sequences are not optimally staged? The protagonists do not appear complete, the 60 seconds of film time are not exhausted or even exceeded? Don’t do it! From saving all videos to individual post-processing to the chronological sequencing of several sequences, nothing is left to be desired.
Smart thanks to central automation
This also applies to all video editing processes. Whether it’s the digital provision of technical information for better ergonomic understanding, ordering and evaluation for a fee or the filming itself: All processes run completely automatically and centrally via the app, ultimately ending up directly with the right contact person. In plain language: the video clip for analysis at the Triforx / HTWK team in Leipzig, the data for the invoice at IGR.
Time-consuming conversion of (movie) files is now just as much a thing of the past as the “sending back and forth” of numerous e-mails to different contacts. Even preliminary discussions with external ergonomics consultants are no longer absolutely necessary, but are possible if required. A big plus in times of social distancing.
Promoting health, not endangering it
Ultimately, this is the basic tenor of the app. The HUMEN® dynamics methodology is therefore based on the latest scientific findings from the disciplines of ergonomics, medicine and physiotherapy. The results of the ergonomic analysis and evaluation are provided by the respective specialists.
